CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The FGCU swimming and diving team returned to the pool and defeated C-USA foe Rice by a final margin of 134-71 at the FGCU Aquatics Center on Sunday morning. The Eagles, who won 9 of 11 events, improved their dual-meet record this season to 7-0.
"The girls swam tough today after only being back for one day after a 10 day break," said FGCU head coach Neal Studd. "We were a little up and down, which was expected, but ended up beating a very good and very well coached Rice team and are happy with the win." READ MORE
The University of the Incarnate Word women's swimming and diving team raced at UC-San Diego's Canyonview Pool on Sunday. The women lost dual meets San Jose State, 222-76, San Diego State, 222-70 and UC-San Diego, 210.5-87.5.
The UIW women were led by sophomore Alona Kyselova. She started the meet with a fourth place finish in the 200-yard freestyle and a fifth place in the 500-yard freestyle. She bounced back to win the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 4:29.13. Last year, she set the pool record in the same event and also the 1650-yard freestyle which was not swam at the meet this year. READ MORE
