CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – North Florida senior Amy Taylor (Plant City, Fla.) has been named the CCSA Women’s Swimmer of the Week for meets contested Jan. 29-30, the CCSA announced Tuesday.
Taylor broke the program record in the 1000 freestyle with a first place finish and a time of 10:16.43. Taylor broke Lyn Ann Nelson's 1000 free time set back at the 2010 CCSA Championships. The time was also the second fastest posted in the CCSA this season.
In addition to her record-breaking performance, her second place finish in the 200 butterfly was tied for the sixth fastest time in school history (2:06.18). She capped off her stellar individual performance with a third place finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:03.78. Both of the times were among the 24 fastest in the CCSA this season.
Taylor put together a solid dual meet season that included two school records (1000 Free & 200 Fly) and has entered into the school's all-time top-10 list on ten different occasions.
She will compete in her final meet as an Osprey at the 2016 CCSA Championships on Feb. 17-20.
Also nominated for Women’s Swimmer of the Week: Giorgie Graves (Gardner-Webb) and Morgan Rulevich (UNC Asheville).
