Charlotte, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – UNC Asheville junior Morgan Rulevich (Lake Wylie, S.C.) has been named the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week, while Incarnate Word senior Mallory Draper (Victoria Texas) has been named CCSA Women's Diver of the Week for meets contested Oct. 23-29, the CCSA announced Tuesday.
Rulevich competed in four events against Georgia Southern. The junior finished first in all three of the individual events she competed in while placing second in the 400 free relay. She started with a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.16. She then won the 50 free with a time of 24.04. In her final individual event of the dual meet, Rulevich claimed the top spot in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:21.56. To cap off the meet, she was the first leg for Asheville in the 400 freestyle relay. She clocked a 51.60 to set a personal and school record. With her three victories and a second-place finish, she gave UNC Asheville 31 team points (20 percent in total), as the Bulldogs defeated the Eagles for the first time, 155-107.
Draper placed first in the 3-meter dive at the Trinity dual meet, besting seven other competitors. Her 255.10 points helped bring Incarnate Word to the victory.
Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week: Bethany Leap (Gardner-Webb), Morgan Fleming (Georgia Southern), Cassandra Phillips (Incarnate Word) and Lindsey Cohee (Liberty).
