CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – NJIT junior Matheus Monteiro Montarroyos (Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) has been named the CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week, while FAU's Ryan McIntire (Neptune Beach, Fla.) has been named for meets contested Jan. 23-29, the CCSA announced Tuesday.
Montarroyos helped the Highlanders defeat Monmouth 135-69 by finishing first in every race he swam in. In the 200 free he clocked a time of 1:45.23 and in the 500 free he clocked a time of 4:52.10. Montarroyos posted the fastest split in the 200 free relay (21.56) to help his team finish with a time of 1:30.33.
McIntire won the 3-meter dive and broke the school record with a final score of 370.5 against IRSC this past weekend. This is his highest score to date in this event and the win marks his fifth this season. McIntire then took second in the 1-meter dive with a score of 312.60. He currently holds the FAU records in the 1-meter and 3-meter.
