CCSA Announces Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – UMBC’s Johan Rothla (Tallinn, Estonia) has been selected as the CCSA Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while UMBC’s Pak Lam Wong (Hong Kong) earned Diver of the Week honors for meets competed Oct. 28-Nov. 3, the League announced today.
 
Rothla swept the backstroke events for the Retrievers in their dual meet against Old Dominion last week.  He also posted season-best times in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke events.  Rothla posted a time of 51.95 in the 100-yard event and broke the pool record with a time of 1:51.78 in the 200-yard event.  He becomes the second UMBC swimmer to take home Swimmer of the Week honors this season.

Wong led the diving portion of UMBC’s meet with Old Dominion by posting season-bests in both events.  He won the 3-meter competition with a score of 305.10.  In the 1-meter event, Wong finished second behind teammate and reigning CCSA Diver of the Week, Tim Perkins, with a score of 265.64.

Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week:  Luke Burton (Davidson), Nathan Lile (Gardner-Webb), Brian Capozzola (NJIT) and Matt Johnson (VMI)

Also nominated for Diver of the Week:  Brian McRae (Davidson)
