CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) – Florida Gulf Coast’s Emma Svensson (Uppsala, Sweden) has been selected as the CCSA Women’s Swimmer of the Week, while North Florida’s Monica Rice (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) was tabbed the Diver of the Week for meets competed Oct. 13-Oct. 19, the League announce today.
Svennson paced the Eagles against Florida State last week with four top three finishes. She took first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.48. Svennson also posted a trio of team season-bests with marks of 23.45 in the 50-yard freestyle, 51.00 in the 100-yard freestyle and 1:42.97 as a member of the 200-yard medley relay team.
Rice helped the Ospreys’ effort against Florida International with a couple of top two finishes. She garnered a first place finish in the 1-meter dive with a score of 259.35. Rice added a second place finish in the 3-meter dive with a score of 261.70.
