Florida Gulf Coast, Gardner-Webb Drop Dual Meets

Florida Gulf Coast and Gardner-Webb took to the pool on Friday in women’s CCSA non-conference action.  FGCU traveled to Florida State while Gardner-Webb squared off with Queens University.

The FGCU swimming & diving team pick up its first loss of the season Friday afternoon in a rainy dual meet against the Seminoles of Florida State. Having never beaten the Noles, the Eagles racked up a total of four first-place, seven second-place and five third-place finishes, but ultimately suffered a 189–109 defeat.

The meet began with the 200-yard medley relay where Emma Svensson, Evita Leter, Kira Toussaint  and Sara Hamilton united to finish the race in a season-best 1 minute and 42.97 seconds to take second place.  FULL STORY

GARDNER-WEBB DROPS DUAL MEET AT QUEENS ON FRIDAY
Queens' men's swim team won 10 of 11 events, and the Royals' women's squad won 9 events as the Runnin' Bulldogs men's and women's swim teams dropped their respective season-opening dual meets on Friday.

In the meet's opening event, the 200 medley relay, tight races determined the first place finisher, with Queens coming out on top in both the men's and women's events. Gardner-Webb's Kaylee McCallan, Charity Byrum, Mary O'Doherty, and Christina Clayton combined for a time of 1:48.63 to give the Runnin' Bulldog women a second place finish in the event.  FULL STORY
