KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Senior men's diver Peter Gibbons will become the first CofC diver in program history to compete in the NCAA Zone B Championships as he travels to the University of Tennessee for Monday's meet start.
Gibbons will represent the Cougars in one of five NCAA regional meets around the country to eventually select an NCAA national champion. He will be competing in the one-meter dive only.
The Zone B meet in Tennessee's Jones Aquatic Center will start on Monday, March 11 and go through Wednesday, March 13.
Gibbons won the CCSA Men's Diver of the Year for the third-straight season after he set a new conference record in the one-meter dive of 320.45 just a few weeks ago at the CCSA Championships.
A native of Fairfax, Va., Gibbons holds the school records in the one- and three-meter dives with a top score of 321.65 in the shorter dive.
This season, Gibbons won the CCSA Male Diver of the Week award five times and has won it 15 times in his four-year career.
