CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) - Liberty's Cori Gary (San Antonio, Texas) has been selected as the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week, while North Florida's Julia Moomaw (Orlando, Fla.) earned Diver of the Week honors for meets competed Jan. 21-27, the League announced today.
Gary won both the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle events to help Liberty to a 119-81 win over Marshall. Her time of 51.78 in the 100-free and time of 1:54.40 in the 200-free were Liberty's fastest times in both events this season. Those times proved to be season-best performances for Gary as well.
Moomaw, competing in her final home meet as an Osprey, helped North Florida to the 142-101 victory over Georgia Southern. She won the 1-meter board with a score of 237.37 and captured second-place in the 3-meter board with her score of 260.62. This is Moomaw's third Diver of the Week honor this season.
Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week for Week 18: Sarah Graif (College of Charleston), Meredith Nakano (Davidson), Emma Svensson (Florida Gulf Coast), Madi Dinsmore (Gardner-Webb), Christina Moran (Georgia Southern), Briana Dillon (Howard), Christian Hill (North Carolina A&T), Bridget Woods (North Florida) and Justina Dunne (VMI).
Also nominated for Diver of the Week for Week 18: Megan Norton (College of Charleston), Maegan Butler (Florida Gulf Coast) and Sara Meisenhelder (Georgia Southern).
