Svensson & Butler Named Women's Swimmer & Diver of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( - Florida Gulf Coast's Emma Svensson (Upsala, Sweden) has been selected as the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week, while teammate Maegan Butler (Orangeburg, N.Y) earned Diver of the Week honors for meets competed Jan. 14-20, the League announced today.

Svensson recorded three individual wins against Florida International.  In the 100-yard backstroke, she finished first with a time of 55.46.  She then won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.23 and placed first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.05.  Svensson was also a member of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay that finished with a time of 3:29.42.  This is Svensson's third consecutive Swimmer of the Week honor.

Butler placed well in both of her diving events.  She captured second-place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter board with scores of 256.72 and 289.12, respectively.  This is Butler's third Diver of the Week honor this season.

Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week for Week 17: Kylie Warne (Campbell), Meredith Nakano (Davidson), Charity Byrum (Gardner-Webb), Kaylee Parsons (Georgia Southern) and Alessandra Troncoso (UNC Asheville).

Also nominated for Diver of the Week for Week 17: Kaliya Burton-Akright (Davidson) and Sara Meisenhelder (Georgia Southern).
