CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) - Gardner-Webb's Nathan Lile (Waynesville, N.C.) has been selected as the CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week, while College of Charleston's Peter Gibbons (Fairfax, Va.) earned Diver of the Week honors for meets competed Jan. 7-13, the League announced today.
Lile led Gardner-Webb to a 148-63 victory over Limestone on Friday. He captured first-place in the 500-yard freestyle, with his time of 4:21.1 setting a pool record. He posted another individual win in the 200-free with a time of 1:44.8 and anchored the winning 400-medley relay.
Gibbons posted a pair of wins in College of Charleston's dual against SCAD. His score of 321.75 in the 3-meter board qualified him for the NCAA Diving Regionals. He also won the 1-meter event with a score of 287.10. This is Gibbons' third Diver of the Week honor.
Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week for Week 16: Pablo Ortiz (College of Charleston).
