CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) - Florida Gulf Coast's Julie Leth-Espensen (Copenhagen, Denmark) has been selected as the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week, while VMI's Heather Magill (Herndon, Va.) earned Diver of the Week honors for meets competed Nov. 26-Dec. 2, the League announced today.
Leth-Espensen had a record-breaking performance at the Georgia Tech Invitational. She set a program and Conference record in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:08.68 to finish in second-place. On day two of the meet, she broke the CCSA and Florida Gulf Coast record in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:15.32. Leth-Espensen ended the Invitational setting another Conference and program record by winning the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:13.19. She also met the NCAA Division I "B" cut for all three events.
Magill competed in the 1-meter board in VMI's dual against Howard. Her score of 253.60 in the event set a school record.
Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week for Week 10: Kylie Warne (Campbell), Meredith Nakano (Davidson), Janai Ederaine (Howard), Bridget Woods (North Florida), Sarah Fredericksen (Radford) and Justina Dunne (VMI).
