CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) - Davidson's Drew Onken (Marietta, Ga.) has been selected as the CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week, while VMI's Nate Myers (Lena, Ill.) earned Diver of the Week honors for meets competed Nov. 26-Dec. 2, the League announced today.
Onken had a strong performance at the Total Performance Swim Camps Invitational. He set a program record in the 100-yard breaststroke prelims, posting a 56.09 time and finished second in the event with a time of 56.18. Onken won the 400-yard IM in a time of 3:53.01, breaking the pool and meet record in the process. His performance also qualified him for the NCAA Division I "B" cut. He recorded a season-best 1:51.63 in the 200-yard IM and placed fifth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:50.91. Onken finished the competition with a win in the 200-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 2:01.48. He was also a member of the 400-yard free relay, the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard free relay teams that finished ninth, sixth and fourth, respectively.
Myers competed in the 1-meter event in VMI's dual against Howard. He won the event with a season-best score of 244.45.
Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week for Week 10: Zadok Isaacs (Howard) and Connor McMahon (VMI).
