CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) - College of Charleston's David Sherrier (Boulder, Colo.) has been selected as the CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week, while College of Charleston's Peter Gibbons (Fairfax, Va.) earned Diver of the Week honors for meets competed Nov. 12-18, the League announced today.
Sherrier had a good showing at the Wingate Fall Frenzy. He swam a career-best 4:40.20 in the 500 free, a season-best 1:41.56 in the 200 free and a season-best 46.80 in the 100 freestyle. He also competed in four of College of Charleston's relays. He swam a 20.88 split in the 200 free relay, a 45.77 free leg during the 400 medley relay, a 20.41 free leg on the 200 medley relay and 46.26 on the anchor leg of the 400 free relay.
Gibbons competed in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the Wingate Fall Frenzy. He claimed first in both events, scoring 271.45 on the 3-meter board and 260.15 on the 1-meter board. This is Gibbons' second nod for Diver of the Week this season.
Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week for Week 8: Luke Denman (Gardner-Webb).
