CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) - Liberty's Emilie Kaufman (Kirkland, Wash.) has been selected as the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week, while Radford's Skye Hickling (Midlothian, Va.) earned Diver of the Week honors for meets competed Nov. 12-18, the League announced today.
Kaufman broke three program records at the Hokie Fall Invitational. She broke the CCSA record in the 100 breaststroke after recording a time of 1:01.85 to finish in third-place. She also met the NCAA Division I "B" cut and U.S. Open cut. She also set a program record in the 200 breast, swimming a time of 2:19.12 for ninth place. Kaufman finished fifth in the 200 IM and lowered Liberty's IM record to 2:04.35. She helped the Lady Flames set a program record and earn fourth in the 200 medley relay by swimming her leg in 28.26. Kaufman also posted Liberty's fastest splits in both the 400 free relay (52.24) and 800 free relay (1:54.19). This is Kaufman's second Swimmer of the Week honor.
Hickling finished first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events in Radford's Highlander. She scored a personal-best 275.55 points on the 3-meter board and earned a score of 234.1 on the 1-meter board.
Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week for Week 8: Kylie Warne (Campbell), Sarah Graif (College of Charleston), Chariety Byrum (Gardner-Webb), Elaina Lanson (Georgia Southern), Victoria Orr (North Carolina A&T), Mary Flinn (Radford) and Galen Broido (UNC Asheville).
Also nominated for Diver of the Week for Week 8: Sara Meisenhelder (Georgia Southern).
